Twizzle

I absolutely love these socks and this yarn. It's Twizzle by Mountain Colors. It's a wool and silk blend with 6 sts/inch on size 4 needles. The color is Alpine. I used the Knit Night pattern from Mountain Colors. These were so fast to knit and since it's a larger-than-normal-gauge-for-socks it was a good late at night project for when my hands and eyes get tired. I like this yarn so much I went and bought it in the colorway Northern Lights and am doing spiral rib socks. One warning on the yarn (at least the Alpine) I wore the socks without washing them first and ended up with dyed blue feet. Well, at least it was a real reason to get a pedicure!

Who? Me Superstitious?

Voodoo Car Strikes Again!!!!!

Would you believe that on Friday, the thirteenth, a delivery truck backed into my car???? This is the fourth accident in exactly 12 months. And then add in the theft a few weeks ago and we have five bad incidents in one year. My Cruiser used to be called "Gutless Wonder" but I have renamed it Voodoo. Of all the things that have happened to this car none, absolutely none, have been my fault. One accident was Mr. C's fault (he rode over two cement curbs and broke a bunch of stuff on the wheel), but the rest have ALL been people hitting me. But thankfully they have all had insurance. And at least my knitting wasn't a casualty this time.

I really like this picture though. The car appears to be so clean you can see the reflection of the mountains. In actuality I was in desparate need of a car detailing. Now thanks to the delivery company I'm getting a free one. Anyone want to see pictures of the rental car? Have I mentioned Enterprise upgrades me for free since I'm a "frequent flyer"? I hope they'll still upgrade me.

Koigu

My first pair of Koigu socks! Aren't they great? I used the Jaywalker Pattern and it was so easy and went quickly. I did, however, get carried away with the knitting and made the legs long enough that I didn't have enough yarn to finish the toes and the LYS didn't have anymore of that colorway so I bought purple for the toes. I actually am happy with this "accident". I am now addicted to the "sproinginess" of merino wool--like I wasn't already.

More Dishcloths

Yep, nothing beats a quick fix faster than dishcloths. The two at the top are the mid month KAL I belong to and the ones on the bottom are the Ballband from Mason-Dixon Knitting. I love the tessalating leaves on the KAL cloths and am going to look for a sock pattern with this stitch. Or maybe even adapt it myself! Yes, I believe it can be done. There is actually more knitting going on than just dishcloths, but my life is in such upheavel right now I need "mindless" projects to get a feeling of accomplishment. I actually finished my Koigu purse socks and have started a new pair of purse socks--I will post those soon.
